  • Education pre-requisite is the BSN. The common nursing program is the MSN with a concentration in Nurse Midwifery, a standard nursing MSN core curriculum that is then tailored specifically to fit the midwifery specialty. Programs run 2 to 3 years for full-time study.
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs may also allow for a specialization in midwifery, as well. In this case you will need an MSN as prerequisite or be on the accelerated program from BSN to DNP.
